Our Story so far

One of my passions as a musician alongside performing and teaching is to connect with the local community through intimate chamber music concerts performed by top-notch artists. I hope to share my love of chamber music art form to the local audiences by presenting a wide variety of repertoire.
My family has recently moved to Morgantown, WV, and I was in the planning process of launching the Summit Chamber Music Series in Morgantown in the fall of 2020 when the pandemic hit all of us. Having graduated from the University of Michigan with a doctoral of musical arts in violin performance recently, I thought it would be very meaningful to give back to the Michigan community during this challenging time by partnering with Michigan hospitals. I was also inspired by the Boston-based organization called Notes of Hope- Music for the Frontline, where Boston classical musicians are "playing it forward" with a short daily streamed performance to comfort, thank, and cheer on Boston's heroic frontline workers.
So during July & August 2020, the Summit Chamber Music Series premiered one video every weekday on the Summit Chamber Music Series' website and our Facebook page as well as at participating hospitals in Michigan to simply show our gratitude to Michigan frontline workers. It was truly meaningful to see so many Michigan musicians volunteer for this project and to connect with the local community in Michigan through music. It would not have been possible without all the musicians, who have selflessly given their time for this project!  We genuinely hope these short video performances have brought a moment of hope, peace, encouragement, and joy to those working on the frontline hospitals and all the patients. You can check out all of our videos on our website as well as on our Facebook page.

Our Mission
The mission of the Summit Chamber Music Series is to enrich the Morgantown, WV, community by offering world-class chamber music concerts performed by nationally and internationally renowned artists. Each season will comprise 5 to 6 main stage concerts bringing together great works of the chamber music canon as well as music by today’s most innovative composers.
The Summit Chamber Music Series will further complement the community by bringing great music to hospitals, schools, and other community institutions, and by providing opportunities for students to participate in masterclasses and professional training sessions with visiting artists.
Going forward
While the world navigates the myriad challenges presented by our ongoing public health crisis, planning for Summit Chamber Music Series’s official launch have necessarily been placed on hold. However, we are still planning to host a few online concerts until we are safely able to present offline concerts, so please visit our website and join our mailing list for updates of future plans. We look forward to sharing updates – and great music – with our community soon!
The Summit Chamber Music Series is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization.
